Feeling Good Typography

You know how I feel about Nina Simone right? Remember a few weeks ago, the post entitled 10 Things You Should Know About the Extraordinary Nina Simone? If I’ve taken the time to do a 10 Things… post about someone, it means that I really love their music and think that they deserve our respect and attention. This is particularly true of Nina Simone. She was an incredible talent and a dedicated activist in the Civil Rights Movement who deserves a lot more credit than she gets.

What you might not know is that I’m a huge typography buff. I adore letter shapes, typographic art, interesting words and the connection between scribbles on a page and language.

To find a video that incorporates Nina Simone’s music and a bit of experimental typography is the kind of thing that can kick my day off just right. I hope that you enjoy the video and that you take notice of the incredible type that is all around.
