K’Naan and the World Cup

Posted on | June 14, 2010 | 1 Comment

At this point, if you’ve been watching anything soccer related, you’ve probably heard the song, “Waving Flag” by K’Naan, but before it was the anthem for the World Cup, it was, in its original form, part of Troubadour, an outstanding album by the Somalia-born rapper who has made an enormous impact on those of us who have taken a minute to get to know his story and his music. Here is the World Cup version of the song.

If you’re into this, you should definitely check him out and if you YouTube “Waving Flag” you’ll find all kinds of remixes, translations and celebrations of K’Naan’s music.
